How to get to Pennine

By air

The nearest Airport is Manchester International. Alternatively, you may choose to fly to a London Airport, but cheap flights may also be available to Leeds, Birmingham, Doncaster, East Midlands or Newcastle. Please try to avoid arriving at Stanstead or Luton airports as it is very complicated to travel to Wakefield from them.

By train or coach

From Manchester Airport you can catch a train to Dewsbury; trains run every 30 minutes and take about an hour. A single ticket costs about £16. If you let us know your flight arrival time we can tell you train times for Dewsbury (or you can find them out yourself on: We can then collect you from Dewsbury station.

If you arrive at one of the other airports you will need to take the train to Wakefield Westgate station or the coach to Wakefield Bus station. We can then collect you from Wakefield. Unfortunately, while we are happy to collect you from Dewsbury or Wakefield, we cannot offer transport from London or Manchester.

From London, trains for Wakefield depart from Kings Cross Station half-hourly, and cost around £85. The journey takes just over 2 hours. Cheaper tickets can sometimes be booked in advance.

Coaches leave London from several points, e.g. every 2 hours from London Heathrow; the journey takes about four and a half hours and costs around £30.

Remember, travel costs can vary, depending on the day and time of your journey, so it is advisable to check.
