Pennine News and Events

Many hands make Dammers Fest is a local community event held at Pennine on Sat 26 April Dammers Fest

A road closure is affecting those travelling from Denby Dale Road and M1 junction 39. Although there are routes around this closure it is quite congested at peak travel times. Approaches from M1 junction 38 and Barnsley Road A61 are unaffected. More details can be found from Yorkshire Water.

Camphill Families and Friends are holding two Siblings Workshops. The first will be held at Pennine on 12 April. Although it's possibly aimed at relatives of people living longer term in a Camphill centre it may still be of interest for families with a student in one of the colleges. Guidance on receiving funding support for students who want to come to a specialist college continues to be confusing. We have put some guidance together that we hope will be useful.

We've recently updated our website and added some videos, follow the links and let us know what you think.

Pennine Camphill Community is a specialist college providing further education and support for young people who have learning difficulties. You can find how to apply for a student place on our Student Applications page. Please phone our Admissions Secretary on 01924 255281 or e-mail to enquire about student vacancies.

In addition to our full time programmes we are able to offer some shorter part time individual programmes. This maybe with support through social services or personal budgets. To arrange a visit please contact the admissions manager on 01924 255281. Although most students start in September we are able to offer admissions throughout the year.

Our latest Care Quality Commision report has just been published. Our inspector visited in November and we were very pleased that they spent quite some time talking to our students, which is just the way it should be.

Pennine is in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. We are within easy reach from both the M1 and M62. We are accessible for day students from Wakefield, Barnsley, Doncaster, Kirklees and south Leeds. Our site covers 58-acres, including farmland and horse riding facilities. We have good access to public transport and local amenities.

To find out more about us use the links above and to the left to navigate around the site. Why not follow us on facebook. Over a 1000 people viewed our video of new born piglets!
